History of Sweeper's
The club portion of the club was started by Alcan in 1970.
The main building which houses Sweeper's was first a house, and was owned by Donald Poynter (then the manager of The Iron Springs mine). It was taken over by Alcan Newflour Works and operated by them as a non- profit entity and was turned over to the town for a $1.00.
The name Sweeper's was given to it by Pat Brake who operated it for a couple of years.
